What is it? How will it help?
An ozone machine is a small device that produces ozone, a three atom oxygen molecule. They are most commonly touted as a cure all for smell eradication in unoccupied spaces. However, there are some steps you need to take before using an ozone machine to get results.

ozone An ozone machine will only help with odors in the air; most odors in enclosed spaces do not originate from the air but from a porous surface. It is necessary to clean all surfaces before cleaning the air. For example, if there is a room with smoke damage, clean the walls, ceilings, floors, duct work, and other surfaces to start getting rid of the odor. Often, painting and sealing those surfaces will also need to be completed. Only once everything has been cleaned should an ozone machine be used to get rid of the remaining odors.

We have had great results with ozone machine use here at Thomas’, but their introduction has always been coupled with the other steps mentioned above. As with every cleaning process, there are often health concerns. Please always read instructions thoroughly before using an ozone machine and ventilate the areas well after use.
